Transit Magazine’s 2020 40 Under 40 – Jaime McKay, MDOT MTADate Published: August 26, 2020
Jaime McKay, a 2018-2019 TP4All grantee team lead with the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration, has been selected as one of Transit Magazine’s 2020 40 Under 40 – an annual recognition noting outstanding young individuals making a difference in the public transit industry.
During Jaime’s time as a grantee lead, she helped to further inclusivity in transportation planning by directly developing a steering committee of people with disabilities and older adults in Baltimore, MD. The steering committee conducted an assessment of various MTA stations and stops’ accessibility and raised the issue that accessible way-finding could be improved in the subway station and MTA’s bus stops. Recommendations from the committee led directly to accessibility prototypes implemented at Charles Center subway station.
