The Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice released its FY24 Older Adult research solicitation, which can be found at https://nij.ojp.gov/funding/opportunities/o-nij-2024-171942. The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2024.
The solicitation seeks applications for the funding of rigorous research and evaluation projects in four topical areas:
- Evaluation of programs that seek to prevent, intervene in, or respond to the abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of older adults;
- Evaluation of prevention and education programs related to financial fraud and exploitation of older adults (including the efficacy of scam prevention messaging campaigns);
- Research on individuals who abuse (either financially, physically, sexually, and/or emotionally) or neglect older adults; and
- Forensic research involving the development of radiographic evidence and bioinformatic approaches relevant to the physical abuse of older adults.
